Circle — 07/2009 – 12/2009
In July I photographed the ground in front of a café in Karlsruhe – then I randomly picked up a tiny stone.
As we were just saying good bye to a friend who was about to leave to Bolivia, I gave this stone to her and told her to throw it away there. I liked the idea of moving parts of one continent to another one that has been without a physical connection for millions of years. Thought to its end this process is a kind of articifical continental drift. Instead of throwing it away this friend of mine kept the stone for three month, carried it through Bolivia and – after having returned to Germany – handed it back to me. To close this circle I went to the café again, put back the stone and once again took a photo of the ground.
